NOTTURNO
A jar with nowhere to hide. Glass can borrow a room to look expensive. Matte ceramic cannot. Here there is only form, and print.
Every trick that saves a glass bottle is unavailable here. A transparent object is mostly the room around it: move a panel and the whole thing changes. A matte ceramic jar reflects almost nothing: what you see is the surface itself, and the surface is unforgiving. Any error in the silhouette is simply there, in the open.
So the work moves. It is no longer about what the object collects from the set. What is left is the profile, the way the shoulder turns, the exact softness of the highlight running along the lid, and whether the printed band sits on the jar like paper or like a decal.
The lid is the only shiny thing in the frame, and it carries the whole shot. If it reads as painted plastic, nothing else can save the image.
